Comparative Morphometry of Erythrocytes of Different Fish Species

The study was conducted to determine morphometric characteristics of red blood cells (RBCs) of different fish species caught during trawl operations carried out between 20 - 600 m depth range in Antalya Bay, Turkey. Cell and nuclear sizes of RBCs of 11 fish species examined and measured. Variations in RBCs overall shapes and sizes were observed among the species.

Mitochondria and Vascular Sensitivity during Long-term Morphine Exposure

Microenvironment adaptation was proposed to be interoceptive cues for conditioned morphine dependence and tolerance. In the present study, we revealed in prefrontal cortex, that there was apparent mitochondrial and vascular oxidant production following long-term morphine treatment and subsequent naloxone precipitation. Comparably, naloxone precipitation equipped a higher capacity in modulation of VEGF-VEGFR2 signaling and close connection of VEGFR2 and AC5.

Molecular Chaperones Shape Steroid Receptor Action and Pharmacologic Strategies

Chaperone oligomers exist in cell cytosols as preassembled heterocomplexes that function as protein-folding molecular machines able to assemble essential proteins related to families that embrace steroid receptors, protein-kinases, ubiquitin- ligases, and transcription factors, among other families of key proteins. Actually, steroid receptors may be considered a particular subset of transcription factors that can be activated by specific ligands. Some of them are primarily located in the cytoplasm, others are constitutively nuclear, but regardless of their subcellular distribution, they are constantly shuttling between both compartments in a highly dynamic manner.

This review article focuses on the past and future aspects of vascular endothelial growth factor inhibitors in Cervical Cancer. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)-mediated angiogenesis is considered to play a vital function in the tumor development and metastasis. Therefore, VEGF-inhibitors are being actively considered as prospective anticancer treatment. The most widely studied tyrosine kinase inhibitors that target VEGF or anti- VEGF monoclonal antibodies and receptors, promise significant results in clinical trials.

Proteasome Inhibition in Lymphoproliferative Disorder

Proteasomes are multi-subunit protein complexes, which present numerous targets for therapeutic interference. The most commonly used proteasome is 26S proteasome, which contains one 20S proteolytic core subunit and two 19S regulatory cap subunits. There are three different types of active sites of 20S proteolytic core and both, natural and synthetic proteasome inhibitors have been developed for this active site. The bortezomib is a Peptide boronate proteasome inhibitor and it targets the vital degradation process of intracellular protein, through proteasome.
